Then there is the Richard Lange leaping seconds model, which reinterprets the high-precision scientific observation watches of the past.
Each one is impressive in its own right, and in keeping with what we have come to expect and appreciate from A. Lange & Söhne best replica watches. But perhaps the most impressive new version is the Gran Lange 1 Moon Phase “Lumen”. And that’s not just because it’s a limited edition of just 200 pieces.
The reason? Among all the new models launched by the brand, the Lumen is the one that shows the most personality. The watch combines a brilliant glowing moon phase dial with a mystically luminous large date on a very impressive dial.
This watch is the fruit of two previous models of the German watchmaker. The first is the Gran Lange 1 Lumen, which was released just three years ago. It featured a semi-transparent sapphire crystal dial that exposed Lange’s ingenious plus-size date disc configuration. It was followed a year later by the Gran Lange 1 moonphase model,

The dial of the new model is made of silver and blackened, semi-transparent sapphire crystal tinted black. Thanks to a special coating applied to the glass, the most visible light is blocked,
waiting for the UV spectrum to “charge” the luminous pigments on the mechanism of the large date and make it glow in the dark. The units disk, also with black numerals,
is made of transparent glass and rotates in front of the luminous background of the date opening.
Also new to this watch is a crystal moon disk,
which differs from previous Lange moon phase models with solid gold moon disks. A laser is used to cut 1164 
stars and the moon into the disk, and thanks to the luminous compound behind it, the stars shine as if they were in the night sky. The 41mm platinum case provides a perfect complement to the dark dial.
As always with A. Lange & Söhne replica watches, the hand-wound caliber L095.4 – which also happens to offer a robust 72-hour power reserve – is elaborately finished and double-set. The three-quarter plate, for example, is made of natural nickel silver and decorated with Glashütte rib.
The new Lumen demonstrates the A. Lange & Söhne custom in attention to detail and the use of precious materials. The notable addition is a fresh, modern dial design that shows more character than we’re used to seeing in the brand’s shapes. It is marked as a good win for the 2016 run by the German watchmaker.
