Every year, the Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board or the RSMSSB recruits for Village Development Officer (VDO) through a dedicated entrance examination. Eligibility Criteria for RSMSSB VDO Exam
Before a candidate prepares for the Rajasthan VDO syllabus, he/she must meet any one of the following Rajathan VDO eligibility criteria.
- All applicants must be bonafide citizens of India, Bhutan or Nepal, or their family must have settled in India prior to January 1, 1962.
- Candidates must be of sound physical and mental health.
- They must be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university deemed by the UGC. Along with that, they are also required to have an O level certificate in computing from DOEACC. Alternatively, they could also have the Vocational Training Plan from the National or State Council in Data Preparation and Computer Software (DPCS) or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA).
- They should have a Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Applications from either a recognized Polytechnic institution or a state or central university. Must be able to exhibit that they hold basic computer knowledge.
- They must be in possession of the RS-CIT certificate from Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota.
Candidates who are married must keep all of the following eligibility criteria in mind:
- Male applicants with two living wives are ineligible to write the exam. Female candidates married to an already married individual will also be deemed ineligible.
- Applicants involved in any nature of dispute pertaining to dowry will be withheld from applying for the exam.
Besides the aforementioned set of criteria. Candidates are also required to be fluent in both reading and writing the Hindi language and are expected to be familiar with Rajasthan’s culture and history.
Age Limit
As per the RSMSSB, candidates must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for the exam. The upper age limit is 40. However, in light of the Gram Vikas Adhikar Bharti Pariksha 2016 being cancelled. The board will award a 3-year exemption to the applicants. Candidates belonging to reserved categories may.avail of additional age relaxations.
Application Fees for Rajasthan VDO Exam
All applicants will be required to pay a nominal application fee for the exam. Depending on the candidate’s category, the cost will be as follows:
- General and OBC (Other Backward Class)- Creamy Layer: 450 rupees
- EWS (Economically Backward Class) and OBC- Non-Creamy Layer: 350 rupees
- SC (Scheduled Caste) and ST (Scheduled Tribe) and PWD (Persons with Disabilities): 250 rupees
