Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made a lot of changes in recent times in order to make it easier for you to access your provident fund (PF) related information. Now, all EPFO subscribers have to wait for their employers to share their EPF account statement at the end of the financial year. Now, you can check your PF account balance online anytime whenever you want. Now, EPFO you can check your EPF Balance Check Number statement after EPF interest disbursal in your account after every quarter.
As per the changes done recently by EPFO, an EPFO member has four options to can check its PF balance online firstly by simply logging in at Umang App, secondly by using EPFO portal, thirdly by sending an SMS to 7738299899 or lastly by giving a missed call on 011-22901406.
EPF Balance Check Via Umang App
You can now check your EPF account balance on your mobile phones easily using Umang App. This app has been launched by the Government of India (GoI) in order to provide all EPFO members easy access to various government schemes and services via one platform. Here, you can view the EPF Passbook, apply for EPF claims and track these. In order to avail this benefit, you need to do a one time registration. For completing the registration process download the Umang App on your mobile phone.
PF balance check via EPFO portal
You can check your PF account balance by logging in to your account at the EPFO portal. After logging in your account, you need to follow the below given step by step guide:
- Login your account by entering your UAN and password at EPFO portal.
- Visit the ‘Our Services’, then click on ‘For Employees’ in drop down options.
- Select the ‘Member Passbook’ under ‘Services’ tab.
- You will be redirected to a new web page.
The point worth noting here is that you can access your EPF passbook if its UAN is being activated by your employer.Though, your UAN is given by the EPFO, but it is activated only after verification by the employer.
EPF Balance Check via SMS
You have an option to check your PF account balance by sending a SMS to 7738299899. The SMS text format is ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’. Last three digits in the SMS denote the first three digits of your preferred language. This SMS service is available in various other languages. Such as Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali. However, you have to send this SMS from the mobile number which is registered with your UAN.
PF Balance Check Through Missed Call
You have an option to check your PF account balance by using PF UAN Login missed call service as well. You just have to give a missed call on the number 011-22901406 from your mobile number which is registered with UAN. You will immediately receive your PF details on your registered mobile number. After giving missed call on the aforesaid number.
So, there is no need for you to wait for your employer to share the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) statement with you at the end of each year to know the balance. You can use any of the four ways given above to check your EPF account balance online any time anywhere.
