Powerful habits of hygiene : The importance of hygiene cannot be overstated.
Good hygiene boosts your health, increases your attractiveness, while poor hygiene makes you look repulsive, makes you more prone to diseases, and even lowers your self-esteem.
I won’t repeat the cliches like brushing your teeth twice and trimming your fingernails because the internet is full of hygiene habit articles.
I’d rather share 5 habits I see very few talking about – despite taking only a few minutes a day, they have a significant impact.
Putting a thread between your teeth
Whenever someone asks on Reddit, “What are some of the best habits you can develop early in life,” the word “flossing” always pops up.
My flossing kit was inspired by Reddit and a close friend who swears by its benefits. In less than 2 weeks, I went from a 10-minute flossing ordeal to a sub-45 second breeze thanks to an insanely helpful floss tutorial.
After flossing for just a few months, my gums have become healthier, my tooth-ridges have lost their yellowish tint, and my mouth odor has improved. During an interview with Tufts University’s dental school, Professor Timothy Hempton stated:
“Flossing is not easy, but it’s important.”. Flossing is the best way to remove the plaque between the teeth that toothbrushes can’t.
There is no need to spend a lot of time flossing because flossing threads are so cheap. This habit has enormous benefits – it’s a no-brainer.
Getting Your Soles Scrubbed
Since I forgot that my feet were a part of my body, I developed filthy and cracked old-man soles.
When I caught my reflection wearing slippers, I never thought they would show. When I saw it, I cringed with such a deep sense of dread that I started cleaning them.
As it turns out, dirty soles also cause potentially lethal health effects, such as athlete’s foot, staph infections, and foul-smelling gangrene. That only heightened my urgency.
With only a month of meticulous scrubbing, my old-man soles turned 180 degrees – new, smooth, bright yellow skin replaced the old dirt, grime, and cracks.
Scrub your soles with a loofah or a hard-bristled brush. Hands alone won’t do that much to clean your feet. According to UCLA Medical Center’s Dr. Robert K. Lee, D.P.M,
Exfoliation is the actual act of scrubbing or brushing (not just rinsing with water) that removes dead skin and prevents calluses.
Using Q-Tips to Remove Ear Wax
One of my friends went to the hospital after suffering from sudden hearing loss and splitting headaches. This was caused by accumulated earwax.
In addition to causing hearing loss, stockpiling wax will also dirty your earphones, make others go “Yuck!“Yuck!“Yuck! ”, and even spit out chunks of it at random.
It will be your last date with her if a gargantuan mucus glob falls out of your ear on a date.
Cleaning your ears regularly isn’t difficult. Get a large box of Q-Tips and after every shower, grab one and gently probe your ears. You’ll enjoy the tickling sensation as well.
Take care, though. Using too much force or probing too deeply can result in injuries, infections, and even permanent hearing loss.
Getting Your Nether Regions Mowed
My stomach almost turned when I overheard a dude with a perfectly styled beard and a gleaming pigtail doing seated shoulder presses right next to me.
It’s all hair – what’s the point of primping your facial hair while letting your body hair run amok?
Trim your armpits and pubic hair, even if you don’t wear sleeveless shirts or aren’t sexually active – it keeps you cooler, prevents excessive sweating, and promotes pleasant body odor.
Want to take it a step further? Get your full-body hair trimmed – not only will you look cleaner, but you will feel cleaner as well.
Invest in a high-quality trimming kit. Purchase one and use it every month or fortnight. Would you like my recommendations? I like to use zero under my arms and under my nether regions. For my upper body I use 3 mm.
Eating Sugar-Free Gum
is the easiest and cheapest way to keep your mouth clean.
Sugar-free chewing gums aren’t a replacement for brushing, but the xylitol they contain improves saliva production, prevents cavities, and makes your gums healthier.
In addition to strengthening your jaw muscles, chewing gum also sharpens your jawline. You’ve just got yourself a 24/7 mouthwash that’s mint-flavored.
There is also evidence that it improves your thinking – multiple studies have found improvements in attention span, enhanced cognitive performance, and better overall well-being.
The next time you visit your local supermarket, grab a box of Wrigley’s spearmints – you get a whole bunch for less than a dollar.
Bonus: Before you go to bed, spritz yourself with water.
Despite being less rarely recommended than the others, it is still underrated.
You may experience breakouts and worsen your skin conditions when you go to bed with residue on your face, such as dirt, dead skin cells, bacteria, and sebum. Clean your face thoroughly before you go to sleep.
Use cool water to refresh and calm yourself. In addition, regularly washing your face before bed will build a connection between sleep and face washing.
Therefore, you will sleep better in the long run if you wash your face every night. For more articles and Chhattisgarh news visit ibc24.here
