“Welcome aboard your flight IA936 from Delhi to Dublin. We ask that you please attach
…… Blah! Blah! Blah! _……Enjoy your flight.”
Rings! I was startled out of my gentle trance as soon as the soft, metallic voice stopped.
Wow! My first international flight was on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It is exciting to take in the sights, sounds, and sensory overload. When the cabin doors closed, all the outside noise disappeared. The warm humidity of Hyderabad gives way to a cooler and calmer environment.
Runway
A gentle aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped me, interspersed with a fresh scent wafting from the twin air vents overhead. I could see the airlift and terminal building receding through the fogged windows. Looking back out the window, the tip of the wing was tilted with a flashing light. After getting my CPL (Commercial Pilot License) from the best pilot training institute in India and getting a job with one of the major commercial airlines. Talk about dreams that come true! And in our Academy, we make our dreams come true by providing pilot training scholarships.
The Cocoon of Comfort
Economy Class’s cabin configuration was 3 x 3 x 3 with a double aisle. Huge overhead compartments with plenty of carry-on storage were a treat. Sitting in a front-row cabin bulkhead seat is always a privilege: the extra legroom on a long flight is always welcome. A curtain across the galley prevented me from seeing the cabin crew in straight-back seats, which buckled for takeoff.
With both engines whirring, we taxied down the runway and collided with some stripe tracks. The windsock in the distance showed wind speeds of less than 5 knots with a few scattered low clouds visible on the horizon. I knew from my time at our Academy that we were going to runway #11/29, which has a CAT III-B instrument landing system and #40; ILS and No. 41; this 4The 4-kilometre runway is one of three runways at Rajiv Gandhi Airport in Hyderabad. And our Academy, being the best in the city, provides training for CPL, PPL (Private Pilot License) and ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License).
Suitable time to fly!
The faint blue light in the cabin faded to comfortable soft ocher. The music faded away, and I looked at the clear track. Our pilot released the brakes and set them up and ready to go off we went! The vibration rhythms were changed when the vehicle was powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, which went to full power. My heart was pounding with excitement as I was pushed back into my seat. I smiled at an older woman praying fervently across the aisle. The wind from the vents seemed speedy
as our wheels went off the track. The ship rose at a comfortable incline. The rapid climb was interrupted by the retracted landing gear with a slight dent in the wheel housing.
The Flight Deck: Cockpit
During our training at the best DGCA-approved flight school in India, we had a lot of contact with various commercial aircraft.
I closed my eyes and “saw” the cockpit in my mind’s eye…
The captain is on the left, and the First Officer is on the right of the flight deck. In an aircraft, in front of each pilot is a control column: roll control (wings up and down); pitch control (nose up and down). The rudder pedals at the pilot’s feet help control the yaw (left and right nose). Various screens in front of it display information on altitude, speed, weather, and other critical parameters that help keep aviation the safest mode of transportation. There is a top panel for the switches and buttons used during flight.
The Primary Flight Display (PFD) shows all critical aspects of the flight path. Two transverse L-shapes represent the wings, clockwise from left, airspeed indicator, flight mode announcements (FMA), altimeter scale, and pressure setting.
Positioned in the center of the flight deck, Glare Shield’s GSP panel is used to relay instructions to the autopilot. The three main sections are Altitude, Course and Airspeed Indicator (IAS).
The control column is an essential differentiator between Airbus and Boeing design features. While Boeing aircraft still have the traditional control stick, Airbus aircraft are controlled with a side control stick. The control column is linked to the flight control computer, which relays instructions to the flight levels. The Flight Management Computer (FMC) is the repository of information provided to you after each flight briefing, making it the center of all aircraft controls in flight.
Not only for passengers, but every airline also includes comfortable seats for cabin crew and an escape hatch on the roof of a plane for emergencies
The One-Piece Barrel
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen…”
My eyes widened as a deep, intelligent voice continued with a clear flight update. I fell asleep dreaming about the technical equipment of the cabin!
A flight attendant was serving food, and now my stomach was growling!
Over a warm and delicious vegetarian Indian meal, I turned my attention to the passenger cabin: a marvel of 21st-century aircraft construction, the interior of the Boeing 787 is made of advanced composite material. This lower cabin height leads to higher oxygen intake and, therefore, better passenger health. All this plus dynamic LEDs, larger windows, larger overhead bins, and a smoother ride offer passengers a majestic experience.
“We are currently sailing at 33,000 feet at 400 miles per hour. The weather is good, and with the wind at our side, we expect to make an early landing in Dublin in about fifteen minutes. ……”
15 minutes! Wow again! Dreams Come True: our Academy of Aviation training has not only propelled my career on a tremendous growth trajectory but has also helped me achieve my lifelong ambition in aviation at a cost that is the lowest in the world. Excellent financial planning from my parents and a low-interest student loan in my name, and here I am, ready for the payback period!
“……. please buckle up. We have begun our descent to Dublin…….”
And my life soared – a whole new and exciting level!
