Under article 5 of the law of February 10, 2000, the charges for the public Electrical Services in Dubai concern.
– the additional costs resulting from the obligation to purchase the electricity produced by certain types of installations (wind turbines, biomass, cogeneration, etc.);

– the costs resulting from the implementation of the social electricity tariff;
– part of the costs borne by the suppliers who supply consumers to the TaRTAM (see below );
– the budget of the national energy ombudsman.
These charges give rise to a right to compensation for the benefit of the operator who bears them. They are financed by a levy on the Electrical Services in Dubai bill for which end consumers (individuals and professionals) are liable.
Eligible customer
Consumer authorized to change electricity or gas supplier to supply his consumption site(s).
Energy Regulation Commission (CRE)
Independent administrative authority created by the law of February 10, 2000. CRE’s mission is to ensure that the conditions of access to the electricity and natural gas transmission and distribution networks do not hinder the development of competition (discriminatory practices) and it defines the network usage rates.
