Face Yoga exercises are specifically designed to rejuvenate the skin and make it look youthful. One of the exercises is known as the “lion’s mouth”.

Exercising your face is a form of Face Yoga. Putting your facial muscles in motion has many face yoga benefits, such as reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines. Face Yoga exercises include:

  • Raising your eyebrows and then your eyes
  • Smiling and then frowning
  • Crinkling your nose and then laughing
  • Unclenching your teeth and relaxing your mouth
  • Lifting up your lips and then turning down your mouth
  • Pursing your lips and then blowing out air
  • Stretching your mouth and then sucking in air

Use your fingers to form a “binocular” shape around your eyebrows, cheeks, and across the face. Lift your eyebrows without wrinkling the forehead too much, then squint and then lift them again. Aim to repeat about 50 times.

Face yoga is a type of wellness that helps to relax the face, neck, and jaw to improve the overall appearance. The idea is that the muscles that are used to sustain a smile are also used to tense the jaw. By doing face yoga, you can help ease this tension. One form of face yoga is the Chin Lifter. – Hold the chin up to the sky with hands on either side of the jaw. – Lift up one side of the face about an inch. – Hold for one minute, then do the other.  Face yoga is also about exposing your neck, namely your throat, which you can do by doing the Neck and Jaw Stretch.

Simply by pressing your tongue to the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth, you can train your own body to perform the almost instant chin lifter. It’s about using your muscles to do yoga under your own control. You can use variations of that pose to stretch your neck and jaw muscles to achieve the same effect.
