Overview
Each year, a dedicated group of women turfgrass professionals from across the country assemble at the U.S. Women’s Open, uniting to prepare the championship stage for the world’s best female golfers. In 2025, the “Women in Turfgrass” initiative gathered in Hartford, Wis., to mow fairways, cut holes and rake bunkers across the rolling terrain of Erin Hills. In a profession where women represent less than two percent of the workforce, their presence is more than symbolic—it’s transformative. As their hands prepare the course for one of golf’s greatest showdowns, their efforts help shape a future defined by visibility, opportunity and possibility for female greenkeepers everywhere.
