The definitive list of the best social media posts of the year in golf

December 08, 2025
Save for later

If the recent success of the Internet Invitational is any indication, much of the action in the world of golf is happening on social media. Sure, nobody had a more dominant run in the sport than Scottie Scheffler in 2025. But, then again, Golf Twitter put up some preposterous numbies, too.

What better way to tell the full story of golf in 2025 than with a roundup of all the best tweets (X posts*), Instagrams and TikToks. Below is our best effort to do exactly that, in chronological order, of course.

Max Homa, Mike Francesa spar over TGL

This one was near and dear to my heart as a longtime listener, first-time caller of WFAN. A true worlds colliding situation. I'm no TGL fan, but if you know Mike Francesa, you know he's often comically wrong when it comes to big-picture predictions. So I expect 2026 to go down as the greatest year in TGL history, and for virtual golf to become the world's Numbah One Spawt by 2030.

The Tiger Woods Super Bowl map

Painfully accurate. Unfortunately, all we got out of this was a full offseason of discourse about Jalen Hurts being the guy, discourse that has now bled over into the current NFL season as Hurts continues to prove the opposite.

"What's the source of this data?"

If you know, you know.

Former pro golfer breaks down the "cost of pro golf"

A phenomenal breakdown of just how impossible playing professional golf is, including for the guys slumming it on the mini tour. Alex Romo sent out the video to his following of more than 1.3 million on TikTok and it ended up making its way to every other social-media platform overnight. Romo does a ton of these types of breakdowns on his TikTok page and is well worth a follow.

Nelly Korda bodybags Keegan Bradley on her Instagram story

As I said, I think TGL is one of the many signs of societal decay at large, but I can't deny it delivered some sweet, sweet content in 2025.

Jacob Bridgeman becomes the BridgeMan

BridgeMan gets paid.

Jessica Hadwin's untimely joke at her husband's expense after Players MC

At a tournament where simply making the weekend would earn you, at minimum, $50,250, this was not the time for the ol' MC hammer joke. You live and you learn. Ejecto, seato cuz!

Phil Mickelson's worst take … ever?

Frame-worthy.

Wife of the year, the millennium and the galaxy finds Scotty Cameron at thrift store

This woman found a slice of Japanese A5 Wagyu in a unseasoned ground beef and white rice meal prep slop bowl.

"Love is in the air" — Tiger Woods

Fifty. Three. Million. Views.

Matt Stafford hurls 103-mph fastball at Bryson DeChambeau

Just an excuse to post a video of 9 absolutely rifling the pill. What a sight. M-V-P! M-V-P!

Worst wife of the year, millennium, and the galaxy fake cancels husband's tee time

She better find a LAB putter at the nearest thrift store or she's getting nothing in the divorce.

Golf tat in the wild?

Some of the burnerverse's best work.

Jose Luis Ballester urinates in Rae's Creek

10/10. No notes.

Brooks Koepka misses cut at PGA Championship, immediately buys adult sodas

Hell yeah, brother.

Rumor that Wyndham Clark busted up the Oakmont locker room spreads, then the photo comes

One of those Golf Twitter stories you couldn't possibly come up with in a lab. And Clark's handling of the situation afterward only made things infinitely worse. More on that in a second ...

James Nicholas breaks down how much he spent, and how much he earned, at the U.S. Open

Professional golf expenses breakdowns so hot right now ...

A drive to deep left by C(lark)astellanos

"I'm very sorry, but ..." continues it's 0-for-1 million streak in getting people back on your side.

Paddy v. Maltbie. FIGHT!

People may disagree, but knowing when and where to pull out your phone and hit record is an art form. Unbelievable job by local Colorado Springs reporter Brett Forrest to capture this entire exchange at the U.S. Senior Open this past June.

Bryson and Happy Gilmore do the Happy Gilmore

Unreal collab.

Cameron Young from da Bronx

I implore you all to go follow my friend Scotty H on X if you haven't already. This is like a B- effort from him. That's how good he is.

"Is everyone on yet? OK, let's just get started"

If we were ranking these posts, it'd be difficult to keep this one out of the top 3.

Fire everyone

If you guys are trying to recreate the European Team in here you will LOSE to the European team out THERE!

Did Phil cook?

I mean, sure. Why the hell not at this point.

AimPointing the G

I don't think this is the original guy who pulled this move but it's a copycat league and this was the only version of the Guinness AimPoint I could find. If the guy who did it first sees this, DM me and I'll throw your's in here, too.

Gruden dunks on Horvat

Hey Grant. Learn Ball.
